Spring Travel Season 2018
Finally – it’s officially spring! Many of us wait all winter to delight in the first signs of springtime, whether it’s warmer weather or flowers blooming. We have travel ideas to put some spring in your step this season. Here is an overview of beach vacation spots, mountain trips, and 2018 spring festivals.
Spring Break Hot Spots
Absolutely nothing says “spring break” like a beach vacation. Singles, couples, families with children, as well as college kids love to hit the beaches between the end February and mid-April, with peak 2018 travel in mid-March.

Places like Cancun and Myrtle Beach are notorious for offering spring breakers a great time with ample options for beachfront hotels, restaurants, and nightlife. Florida, of course, is also at the top of spring travel lists. With its Florida sunshine and powdery white sand, Clearwater Beach was recently named the best beach in the U.S. by TripAdvisor for 2018. Siesta Key came in second among several other Florida beaches on the list.
Mountainous Trips
You don’t have to head to the coast for a memorable spring vacation. Ideal temperatures and fewer tourists make mountain trips a great choice for spring. Go to the Smoky Mountains or head out west to California for beautiful hiking trails, fishing, and the pleasantries of springtime’s budding nature.
In cooler locales with high altitudes like Utah or Colorado, you will also find some excellent deals on the slopes. For example, some ski lodges drop prices up to 50 percent during spring months. As for savings, spring is also a great time of year for European trips. Place like Switzerland and France boast some late-season skiing options in the upper elevations of the Alps. In spring, you can catch great deals on airfare between the U.S. and Europe before those travel prices peak in the summer months.
Food Festivals
Our list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning a few spring festivals. Outdoor music festivals, spring celebrations, and 2018 food fests are heating up around the globe. For example, consider checking out the Taste of Vail, April 4-8, in Colorado. If you enjoy exceptional dining and the finest wines, the annual Taste of Vail is the spring food and wine festival for you. Each year, thousands fill Vail venues and mountain resorts to enjoy special events, seminars, and iconic tasting events.
We also suggest you sink your teeth into the Austin Food & Wine Festival, April 27-29, in Texas. This three-day festival offers live music, tasting events, celebrity chefs, and hands-on grilling demos to delight foodies. If you’ve been wanting to check out Austin’s flair, this event is a wonderful opportunity to get a taste of this unique, American city.
We encourage you to search the web to find limitless travel options for enjoying the beauty of spring around the world. We invite you to share your food and travel photos with us on Twitter or Facebook. Eat well, live long, and travel far!
