Her blog, titled “Nutritional Medicine: Food, Herbs & Supplements” is a glossy array of beautiful images and insights into anything you’d want to know about food, nutrition, vitamins, and supplements.

Living in England, Sarah went to Selwyn College, Cambridge University, to study Natural Sciences, but she soon became more interested in studying humans than starfish and rabbits. She inevitably transferred to medicine, earning degrees in Natural Sciences, Medicine, and Surgery. As a General Practitioner, Dr. Brewer worked in the inner city of Plymouth, Devon, where she observed that many illnesses have a dietary basis.

“I realized that many of my patients survived on a diet of pizzas, pies, pastries, chips and donuts with little, if any, fruit or vegetables,” says Dr. Brewer. “No wonder they felt tired all the time with lots of niggling health problems – including depression and aggression.”

Dr Sarah BrewerAfter Dr. Brewer started prescribing vitamin and mineral supplements, people started perking up and feeling better with more energy; they were then more open to improving their diet. A growing interest in nutritional healing inspired her to earn a Master’s degree in nutritional medicine from the University of Surrey. She also became a Registered Nutritionist, a Registered Nutritional Therapist, and an award-winning health writer. The string of professional suffixes after her name include MSc (Nutr Med), MA (Cantab), MB, BChir, RNutr, MBANT, CNHC, and FRSM. We assume the list will probably keep growing.
